Honestly, who doesn't love Savannah Outen?  She's the girl everyone wishes they were, and this lovely candid captures that sentiment -- she seems to even radiate light!  A part of Savannah's charm is how sweet and "regular" she is, and I love this outfit for that reason: a simple black tee and jeans customized to her own style is an ensemble that every girl needs to have in her closet.  So put on your favorite jeans and kick on some fun shoes, then let your own golden side shine through!

Savannah's plain black tee shirt is a completely blank canvas, like the Flutter-Sleeve V-Neck ($24) by GAP.  For a monochromatic top with a fun and fancy twist, try another GAP design, the Tuxedo Tank ($28) -- the tux pleating is so flattering.  I'm personally a big fan of black-and-white, so I couldn't resist the Three-Button Tank by Charlotte Russe ($24.99) or JC Penney's tie-backed black rûched top ($21).  Adorable!

Savannah's humongous leopard print purse is wild (pun intended) -- try these zebra-patterned bags from Primo Purses (both styles $32) to shoulder in the urban jungle... or school hallway.

Wildcats not your cup of tea (unless they're Troy, Chad, or Ryan, of course)?  Try a gemtone argyle satchel ($53) or, my favorite, polka dots ($25).

Savannah's four-strand gold headband is so simple and pretty.  Gazzu has gorgeous embellished cord headbands for only $7 in a rainbow of colors (with cute names!).  I chose "Fireside," "Blueberry Meringue," and "Caramel Cream" to show above!

For a throwback to the 1970s, try a fabric headband, like Janimaru ($3.99) or Granny's Closet ($4).  These are sure to give your look a splash of bright color, so make sure all of your accessories coordinate!

If you want to be a golden girl like Savannah, and want a little drama to go to your head, the feathered headband from Grey Owl ($15) is sure to tickle your flight of fancy... or channel Rapunzel with the golden band by handmadecrafter ($5.89).  But for the ultimate gold bauble, Shannon Hazell's bubbly creation ($28) takes the cake and is almost like a tiara for everyday!

OK, so I can't tell if Savannah is wearing a necklace, but I never feel like a black t-shirt is complete without a pretty contrasting necklace.  These shining strands each impart their own emotion -- Primo Purses' Buddha palm ($8.99) feels peaceful; BirdzNBeez's Aerosmith-esque clockwork ($29) just screams "rockstar!", and chinaberry's delicate gold vintage bow ($10) may as well be a silver spoon in the mouth.  And Dolls & Molls' elephant ($9.99)?  He's just cute!

I am in love with Leelu Q's sunny flower necklaces.  The big enamel flowers are reminiscent of mod jewelry from the swinging 1960s, and the little details -- like the glittering flecks in Cinnamon's ($36) beads or the tiny chartreuse ladybug in, well, Lady Bug ($32) are definitely conversation-starters.

These eclectic pieces sparkle with a splash of color and heaping helping of personality.  Offbeet Boutique has a few different designs of their flowered enamelwork ($13), and they all feel like Strawberry Shortcake cartoons to me -- sassy Orange Blossom, anyone?  But my favorite piece of all is the Spearmint necklace ($21) by Pollyanna Cowgirl -- the candystripes of cool green are perfectly refreshing for a hot summer day... or when that special boy is "walkin' past you through the halls"!
