Sonic Underground

Release Date: December 18, 2007
Length: Approx. 480 minutes
Rating: 1 out of 4 stars

Hey, remember in the Sega video games when Sonic the Hedgehog was a prince who reunited with his lost siblings to form a rock band and with their music save everyone on the planet? Yeah, me neither. But that's the premise of Sonic Underground, which is now available on DVD.

With a vocal cast that includes both Sean Connery and Jaleel White of 'Family Matters', Sonic is now a guitar ace, with his brother Manic on drums and sister Sonia on piano. Don't forget that their instruments double as weapons in a pinch.

Sonic Underground is the third animated series to star the blue hedgehog. The DVD set includes a bonus CD with Sonic Underground's Greatest hits. The picture is sharp and sound is clear. The packaging is an attractive cardboard case with the two slim DVD cases.

Highlights: The combination of over-the-top cartoon action with the
occasional spontaneous song and music outbreaks of a Rogers and Hammerstein musical.

Noteable quote:
Sonic: "Don't be such an SAP!"
Sonia: "And WHAT does that mean?"
Sonic: "A Spiney, Annoying Princess!

-Aaron aka The Friendly Stegosaurus
