High School Musical DVD Game

Release Date: November 18, 2008
T2 Rating: 1 3/4 out of 4 stars

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment is releasing the High School Musical DVD Game, in stores November 18. All a user needs is a DVD player and a remote control, and they’ll have their head in the game the Wildcat way. Filled with a variety of games and activities, this DVD game provides plenty of entertainment. There are 11 different games ranging from trivia, to Wildcats tryouts, to a sing-a-long, and even a dance off.
Choose which character you want to be. Troy? Sharpay? Maybe even Ryan. Listen to Kaycee Stroh as she explains how the different games are played. Then grab your DVD remote, and get ready for some fun. High School Musical DVD Game can be played by a single player, one to four multiple players or two teams of two or more players.

What is this game’s biggest asset is also its biggest hang up. Everything is controlled by the DVD player remote, which is great for those families that don’t own a game console. However, that same remote often makes actually playing the games a bit klunky. Also the lack of a decent payoff when as a player you do something right during a game leaves you wanting for more. It’s worth checking it out once, but it may not provide the hours of entertainment you might be looking for.
