PG-13 For Violence, Terrors and Disturbing Images

One of this year's biggest thrillers comes to DVD – Cloverfield. First off if you’re the type that gets sick of watching shakey home movies, you may want to steer clear of this one. The story told from the perspective of a camcorder starts a little slow, but once it gets going you’re on an adventure. Unlike typical movies of this genre, it weaves a little comedy throughout in addition to not needing a lot of gross shots to scare you. Perhaps it's a good choice for one's first scary movie when the time is right.

The extras included give a great look at the making of the film, including all the secrecy that went into making Cloverfield. Plus, learn more about the creature and its design. One big miss was the Alternate endings that didn't radically change the story or add any length to the original film. You'll want to pass on those but will want to consider this DVD.
