West End Girls
March 6, 2006
Here's the text interview by Jimmy J.
Jimmy: Hello, Hello. Introduce yourself to the Americans, so they'll know what's hit them.
WEG: Hi! We are the West End Girls two Swedish girls called isabelle and Rosanna, and we are probably the best band in the world ;-)
Jimmy: How did the West End Girls come to be?
WEG: We had talk about it for a long time, to start a real cool electronic band, in the same kind of mood like, Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode, Yazoo for example. We thought it was to much crap music in the world.
Jimmy: What made you choose the name?
WEG: It was just natural, it sounds cool, and fit the music very well, you know the first album is just songs from Neil and Chris from Pet Shop Boys.
Jimmy: Have you ever met the Pet Shop Boys?
WEG: No we haven't, sad but true, but we know that they are flattered by it!
Jimmy: Do you get a lot of questions about the A-Teens, being as your both cover bands? Are you sick of them? What do you usually say about it?
WEG: We used to get that question, and we always say: "We are just two and our tracks are twice as good." Is that a good enough answer?
Jimmy: Your first album is yet to be released. Does it have a name yet?
WEG: YEEEES!!! the name is "Goes Petshopping"
Jimmy: What can we expect on there?
WEG: 11 hits, 11 songs that we likes a lot!!!
Jimmy: What are your favorite songs on the album?
WEG: I'm Not Scared and Shopping (Isabelle). Domino Dancing and You Only Tell Me You Love Me When You're Drunk (Rosanna).
Jimmy: Any plans to do original music in the future?
WEG: Yes, we will do that, we are working on that everyday.
Jimmy: I checked your Calendar on your
official website and you're very busy girls. Do
you ever get tired?
WEG: Sometimes, but you have to learn
to relax in cars, trains and planes. We love to
be out touring so it's okay to be tired sometimes.
Jimmy: You're both only 16. Do you try and still lead a normal life when you can?
WEG: Yes! It´s easy. We both live in the country of Sweden, so it´s very calm their.
Jimmy: Are you both still in school?
WEG: Yes! Our parents are tough! No it´s okay, we both think it´s okay, it's in the school you meet friends..
Jimmy: What do your friends think about what you are doing? Are they Pet Shop Boy fans?
WEG: Most of them like it, and some of them are PSB fans.
Jimmy: Pet Shop Boys are not very big in America. Do you think your music could be more successful in America?
WEG: We hope so, because we want to help the Boys, so they can work on and do more fantastic songs!
Jimmy: Your website shows you in hardhats a lot. Are there loads of things constantly falling from the sky in Sweden?
WEG: Yes! Polar bears and snow, and sometimes aeroplanes, have you heard about "Gripen" the Swedish army plane?
Jimmy: Also you wear hardhats in both your videos. Are you afraid of cameras falling on your heads like when one dropped on Britney Spears in her Oops I Did It Again video?
WEG: We are not afraid of that! We have helmets, we told you that! ;-) That was a real Pipi Longstocking answer, hope you you know who she is?
Jimmy: Kylie Minogue makes all her dancers wear little helmets, but she never wears one herself. What would you say to her about the importance of wearing a helmet?
WEG: If she wears a helmet all of her fans maybe think that she's an Westendgirl fan, that would be great. So it's important for her to wear it!
Jimmy: Will you be making official West End Girls hardhats? We'd buy one.
WEG: Yes we will do that, and when they are ready, we will give you one for free!
Jimmy: Anything else you'd like to add?
WEG: Yes! Use a helmet!
