Here are some of the highlights
from the Interview.
Raul: Now Phill, this
show is so huge! You have a ton of great fans. What’s
it like to have such great fans?
Phill Lewis: It’s
kind of nice you know we love that the audience is so
familiar with the characters, we love that the audience
comes up to us when we’re walking around and want
so know about Zack or Cody or Mr. Moseby. Ya know it’s
just a lot of fun. So we really, we want kids to watch
the show and we want parents to watch the show and we
think we’ve accomplished that.
Raul: Now I get a lot
of emails saying “I’d like to stay at the
Tipton.”
Phill Lewis: Haha.
Raul: They think it’s
a real hotel.
Phill Lewis: Absolutely!
In face we’ve had a couple of near misses. We had
someone who called our production office and wanted to
know that when they went to Boston if they could check
into the Tipton and obviously we had to tell them that
there is no such hotel. So, it was kind of interesting
and that’s happened a couple of times.
Raul: Well if you’re
an observer like myself you realize it’s not real
because the same woman walks out the door every week.
Phill Lewis: We try to
move our extras around but you never know, sometimes you
to get the same one.
Raul: But I’ve
been by the set and it’s very convincing in that
lobby.
Phill Lewis: Well the
lobby set is something that they are very proud of and
it’s been up since we started, they’ve never
taken it down. On some TV shows, once the season is over
the take down the sets and move in a whole new set. They
wanted to preserve that wo the lobby’s stayed up
ever since we started the show.
Raul: Now with the character,
I – just being an idiot sometimes I just assumed
the accent was real.
Phill Lewis: Oh, well
that’s very flattering because it means I’m
doing my job. But no, that accent obviously as you can
hear right now is not real. It’s something that
I just came up with.
Raul: And the thing about
it, I was so convinced that it was real. Then I see you
in something else and I was and I’m like hold on
here.
Phill Lewis: Well it’s
funny because we are fortunate the kids will come up and
ask me for an autograph or want to take a picture and
I say “sure I’ll be glad to take a picture”
they look at me like wait a second?
Raul: Are you the same
guy?
Phill Lewis: Yeah, that’s
not the Mr. Moseby that we usually hear on the Suite Life?
Raul: You gotta do it
for me, you gotta say it.
Phill Lewis: Well, you
want me to say LONDON!!!
Raul: Thank you –
that just cracks me up! Phill it’s such and honor
to meet you because your so much fun and The Suite Life
just like it’s gonna go on until Zack and Cody the
college years.
Phill Lewis: Well, from
your mouth! We hope it does cause we’ve really had
some great times on the show and that kids are great.
I’m just hoping they don’t get too big –
ya know to tall. There already about as tall as me.
