Keke Palmer & Corbin Bleu - January
12, 2007
Here are some of the highlights from the Interview.
Raul: Let’s talk
about the movie, what part do you play in Jump In?
Keke Palmer: I play
kind of Corbin’s characters Izzie’s kind of
love interest. My characters name is Mary and it was kind
of my first kind of love interest role so it was kind
of funny but I’m excited about the movie to see
how it turned out.
Raul: How long did it
take you to for you to film the movie?
Keke Palmer: It took
us… we started in June and then we finished in July,
like July 28th so it was like a month maybe a month and
a half.
Raul: I’ve talked
to Corbin quite a bit and he told me he knew nothing about
boxing before he went in the movie and he trained pretty
hard so what were your impressions of him in that role?
Keke Palmer: I mean he
did such an amazing job. I mean he said he never did boxing
before or double dutching and I mean when you see some
of the stuff that he’s done in the double dutching
scenes you’re going to be really amazed and just
like wow I hope I can do something like that cause he
did such an amazing job.
Raul: Well you have a
movie coming up here in January.
Corbin Bleu: Yes I do,
Jump In!
Raul: And last time we
talked you were getting prepped for it.
Corbin Bleu: Yeah, that’s
right. I was in the middle of training. Oh wow –
yeah lot’s happened since then.
Raul: Yeah, everyone
I’ve talked to said you’ve worked pretty darn
hard.
Corbin Bleu: Oh yeah,
it’s been crazy every single day. It’s funny
we actually have a calendar and every single day until
the end of April has something on it – no joke,
ever day it’s incredible but that’s what I
want ya know to be able to continually work all the time
because I enjoy it.
Raul: And I think the
most unique part about this is double dutching cause this
ain’t easy.
Corbin Bleu: No…
I think that’s the cool part about it is everybody
gets to see, cause most people might not know what double
dutch is and if they do know of double dutch they know
of what people on the street kinda jumping up and down
and singing songs and it’s really great cause now
we’re going to be able to show the whole competitive
side of double dutch where the extreme intensity that
it goes through. I mean people flipping and people doing
stuff on their hands and it’s just the things that
really are I think hopefully get people into double dutch
around the world.
