Corbin Bleu - March 10, 2006

Here are some of the highlights from the Interview.

Tommy: Tonight, Disney Channel will be debuting the Dance-Along version of High School Musical...

Corbin: Yes

Tommy: When you auditioned for your role did you ever think it had the potential to become as big as it has?

Corbin: Umm… actually when I first auditioned for it I had no idea about how huge this would become. Of course I knew it was gonna be a really big hit, because just the whole musical phase is actually kinda making its breakthrough especially since Moulin Rouge and Chicago. And it kinda kept going with Rent and Phantom and all these new musicals and producers that keep popping up. So I figured it was gonna be big but the second it aired and I heard there were 7.7 million viewers on the first night, that’s when I knew. I was like wow!

Tommy: Now most people probably would like to know what it was like to dance with Zac Efron, but I want to know what it was like to dance with one of your cast members and choreographers Chucky Klapow?

Corbin: Alright, so first of all I’m gonna do each one. So Zac, what was cool about him is he’s never really danced before. I mean, he’s dance before, but not as intense as this was and he… he ya know was a little bit nervous at first, but it was so cool to work with him because he ended up picking it up so well. By the final product he looked like a complete professional, it was awesome. And then Chucky Klapow man, he is just one of those people that he… you. Okay, so we would put on the music during lunch time and we’d all dance anyway. And he was just one of those people that he just got up and you just stood at him in watched him in awe. He’s one of those people that just goes full out for everything and the stuff that he comes up is really amazing. He’s really also a well driven guy. He’s really focused and he works really hard. Which is really cool. It was awesome to work with him.
