Charity Von - September 28, 2004

Here are some of the highlights from the Interview.

Tommy: Now obviously something you enjoy is music. How long have you been a music fan and what kind of artists  are you checking out these days?

Charity Von: Oh man, I’ve been into music since I was little. I mean I’ve always said that I don’t ever think I really got into music, music got into me. So ever since I can remember. These days I’ve just been spending a lot of time researching the old great ya know of music. I really love Janis Joplin and Otis Redding and Joe Cocker, ya know Jimi Hendrix, all of the old greats. James Brown I’m just kinda trying to research music so kinda vamp up on old stuff.

Tommy: What’s your take on the current music environment?

Charity Von: I think it’s good, I think it’s moving and changing. I think Hip Hop has kinda taken over the scene right now which is a good thing, but I think at the same time it’s a little off in the retrospect that Hip Hop kinda started off as street poetry and now it’s kinda turned into all club stuff. So I mean, it’s changing too but I mean I’m kinda excited about seeing that kinda taking over the industry, but at the same time I’m kinda hoping they get back to their grass roots and kinda start doing more poetic lyrics.
