Here are some of the highlights from the Interview.

Tommy: To start things off, why don’t you tell us about the upcoming Disney Channel original movie High School Musical?

Ashley: I am really excited. It’s like a Grease for our generation and it’s really awesome. We sing, we dance and I play a mean girl which is totally different than Maddie on Suite Life. So, it was a lot of fun, and our director is absolutely amazing. Kenny Ortega, he directed Dirty Dancing and he did choreograph Ferris Buellers Day Off (the parade) and so it was awesome working with him. We had two weeks of dance rehearsal so it was like a boot camp for us and then we went into filming. So it was really great – a great experience.

Tommy: So we’re going to see a little bit of a different side of you?

Ashley: Definitely definitely! Yeah, I’m a little bit, I’m really mean – which is really fun to play because I’m not like that at all. But it’s really funny, my character Sharpay. She’s like the popular girl. She kinda rules the school and her wardrobe is awesome. She’s always acting like there is a red carpet in her High School so,she dresses amazing! But um, her and her brother, who’s her twin – they think they’re already like celebrities. So it’s really fun!
