John Ondrasik - March 18, 2005

Here are some of the highlights from the Interview.

Raul: What song you gonna do tonight?

John Ondrasik: I’m doing a song “If God Made You”, a song from the current record. It kinda flashes back to that beat poetry days that this show makes a lot of sense for. So it’ll be fun to do. I don’t do a lot of TV acting. I’m the worst actor, you never want to see me act, but if they put me up there with a guitar I could probably get through that. Ya know, the period that we’re shooting is kinda the formation of the singer/songwriter. The word singer/songwriter didn’t exist in those days, it was just performers. People would come out and there was a lot of folk songs and folk singers and at the end of the day I really consider myself Americana Folk singer in that tradition. Ya know, you put a little gloss on it and you hype up the melodies a bit so you can get on the radio but at the end of the day the messages in what I talk about are kind of Americana Folk Music. This is gonna basically take you to that point.
