Will Estes - October 1, 2004

Here are some of the highlights from the Interview.

Raul: Tell us about the many changes your character has been through.

Will Estes: Well it’s a riot, it’s fun really because it’s great to play, it’s really fun to play a High School student in 1965, but it’s even more to play a character that changes so much. I think as an actor, things get really interesting when you play someone who has a huge arc, and goes through so many changes and really becomes a lot different person in such a short period of time. Just a couple of years.

Raul: And now, were you much of a football player before you took the roll?

Will Estes: Not much of a big football player. I grew up in L.A. I played in some sports, but I didn’t play football. I don’t think I was big enough.

Raul: It wasn’t top on your list?

Will Estes: It’s delusions of grandeur, me playing football. I’m not quite big enough or fast enough. But it was fun to play it on TV though.

Raul: Now you’re stuck in your military greens all the time, but before hand you got wear these great letterman jackets and all that. Did you enjoy that?

Will Estes: That was very cool! They’re some of the tightest jeans I’ve ever put on and I can’t say that I miss them at this point, I’ve had fatigues on for awhile and dress blues and those are a little more comfortable. And you can’t beat Marine Corps dress blues. That’s gotta be one of the finest looking uniforms on the planet. Everyone loves it. Everyone says something about it. It just looks so good. The clothes are a trip, they’re a trip. A lot of time, I may wear them today.
